Dear Tony
Special thoughts of you on what would have been your 74th Birthday. Much loved and still missed.

Memories of Dad
Happy memories of times gone by
Sweetens the blow of saying goodbye
A loving, caring, mischievous man
Having him as my Dad - how lucky I am
From when I was born and giving me a name
Turning life’s simple things into a game
Learning about nature, animals and plants
Standing on his feet and having a dance
Teaching me how to ride a bike
Days at the caravan and flying a kite
Bravely pulling out a wobbly tooth
Sometimes losing his temper and hitting the roof
Helping me to do my homework from school
Splashing about and swimming in the pool
Playing piano at the table and ‘hit my hand’
Enjoying the finer things in life and feeling grand
A sense of humour sometimes course and crude
A large appetite for good wine and food
Eating the giblets and chewing a bone
“Screw you guys, I’m going home”
Falling asleep in a chair at the drop of a hat
Loathing nothing more than a domestic cat
Watching the Spurs at White Hart Lane
Hating to see anyone he loved upset or in pain
Buying flowers for Mum on Christmas Eve
Loving a party and never wanting to leave
Always enjoying a laugh and a joke
Talking to people – all manner of folk
I will miss him so much for his warmth and love
But know he’s watching over me from high above
Thank you for being my father and my friend
I will love you forever – until the very end
